Vroom, Vroom…the Mazda MX5

What do you get when you mix a convertible and Palm Springs….one hell of an adventure. I strapped myself into a new Mazda MX5 Miata (of course I had my boyfriend drive) and took the quintessential LA detour through the gorgeous mountains, and dare I say windy deserts. We whipped at quick speeds, I let my hair fly in the breeze and of course we snapped some 35 mm pictures along the way.

There’s something a little too perfect about taking time to enjoy nature with the top down (even if you are enjoying it at 70MPH). We forget that within the hustle and bustle of our everyday lives, there is a right time to step back and take a break. My little break with the Mazda MX5 put me right back into check as I cruised comfortably and stylishly into vacation mode.

As the temperature rose, and not just because of the MX5’s heated seats, we popped the top down and cruised. Compact…yes, but sleek and chic were the first things that came to mind when trading my daily Prius for the new MX5. A few road stops later and a major score at the outlets (an Opening Ceremony bag from Barney’s), we found ourselves transported straight to the pool in gorgeous Palm Springs. The MX5 brought us safely from LA to PS and back, with a few pit stops (one to the famous Pappy & Harriets) and plenty of photo ops.
