A Down Home Good Time: Part 1
Just arrived back in NYC from a two week trip and it was a hell of a good time! There is nothing better than spending quality time with friends, family and taking in the excitement of new places. When living in NYC, you tend to get caught up in the fast paced life. Sometimes you just need to scale back, go to somewhere out of the ordinary, and have a good old time.
Here’s Part 1 of My Story of My Down Home Good Time.
First Stop: Kansas City, Missouri “The Land Where The More Food The Better”
After arriving in Kansas City, we ate…A LOT!
Port Fonda is one of those places you wish you lived next door to so you can frequent it everyday. I’m sure it’s not the healthiest obsession, and definitely doesn’t do well for your backside, but a good take on Mexican mixed with a Hibiscus Margarita…SIGN ME UP! Everything was delicious, and the place was so damn cute…need I say more?
In between meals we had some fun.
Nothing fancy, just an ol’ fashioned good time. We flew high at World’s of Fun, got on our inner girl with a fresh manicure, went to the mall, and just had friend time, the time EVERYONE needs.
Before leaving for our next adventure, we said goodbye to this amazing lady, Angie Baird. Angie is the grandmother to a million (no, literally a million), has a chuckle that will make anyone smile and loves anyone that crosses her path. Thumbs up to Angie!
We packed a small bag, made a 90’s R&B throwback playlist and hit the road.
Second Stop: Des Moines, Iowa “The Land of Tang Cocktails & Bacon Wrapped Tater Tots”
Somewhere in-between Kansas City and Des Moines lives some of the greatest gas stations, fully equipped with anything one could possibly want in life.
And a lonesome Ronald McDonald just waiting for a bunch of girls to sit on him.
Des Moines, Iowa was a celebration! In celebrating two of the most incredible people on earth, it was only suitable to get solid mugshots of the happy couple pre “I DO”.
And of course, a ladies picture.
(Thanks Robert Q Blatt, for being the man behind the camera!)
So, we danced our asses off, laughed & loved, and enjoyed every moment of celebration not only for the happy couple, but for us, a bunch of fashion friends just having a down home good time.
