A Down Home Good Time: Part 2

Welcome to Part 2 of my “Down Home Good Time”, a story of my 2 weeks away from home in New York City. On this leg of the trip I made the journey from Kansas City to that sunny place called Los Angeles. This trip was a mission to see new spots, gain perspective on LA life, and let’s be real have a down home good time with my chicks. Let me tell you….that mission is checked as ACCOMPLISHED.

It wouldn’t be a trip without the cliche photo of the “Hollywood” sign!

And of course, one of us squeezing in the photo with the “Hollywood” sign, and some great sunglasses.

One of my best chicks, and when I say best, I mean that one that literally knows everything about you, has lived with you through the worst and best, and still can deal with you at the end of the day best friend, has made herself a killer career as a costume designer. So she took us on the tour, minus the tour bus and awkward tour guide, through Warner Bros. studios. Of course everyone wants to see the sets and studios, but being able to walk through the costume house could make any fashionista freak.

Best Friend moments like this one are far and few, so capturing it with my Fujifilm Instax 210 just seemed right.

After doing the essential “this is LA” day, we just had some friend fun. The kind of friend fun filled with coffee talk, laughs so hard you feel you have that perfect six pack abs, sunny days, drunk nights and even new friends.

With a personal love for vintage anything, Los Angeles and I had a unique connection. In a world of warm weather and cool clothes, a classic vintage car could make any girl melt. Consider us ice cream on a 90 degree day, while we all melted into the backseat of a vintage Ford Falcon a friend transported us to the bar in.

With sun-kissed skin and another city experience, I returned home to New York with a full heart. A heart filled with amazing moments, shared with some of the best friends a gal can ask for and some great pictures to blog about. At the end of the day, the two weeks we not just any old vacation, but just a simple down home good time.
